Supporting people and places for over 300 years

The work of The Lady Hewley Trust is confined to people and places linked to the Baptist Church, the United Reformed Church and the Congregational Federation within England and Wales, with a preference for the northern counties.

We also support a small number of individuals by providing affordable residential accommodation in central York (the Lady Hewley Almshouses).

For more details on applying for grants or to be a resident in our Almshouses, see the links above.

The Trustees meet twice a year to consider applications for help – once in June and once in November. Forms are available online or can be requested as hard copies from the Clerk to the Trustees (see contact page).

The Lady Hewley Trust is registered with the Charity Commission as “Lady Hewley’s Charity”, number 230043.
